A loan helped to buy stock items for her store like chips, breads, noodles, canned goods, condiments etc.

Melissa's story

Melissa is a good resident of Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. She is 42 years old and happily married to Anthony. They are blessed with two children, who are still pursuing their studies.

She has been engaged in selling quail eggs for almost four years. Aside from that, she manages a small convenience store in front of their house. She has been a good-paying client of Alalay sa Kaunlaran (ASKI) Inc. for about three years. Her previous loan was used for the improvement of their quail poultry.

She has been granted a loan amounting to PHP 25,000 under the business loan program of ASKI. Her loan will be used to buy stock items for her store like chips, breads, noodles, canned goods, condiments etc. to attain a higher income. Melissa's dream is to expand her poultry business and to create employment for the less fortunate.

She hopes that through the support of ASKI and its Kiva funders her business will expand.
