B. is the mother of four children currently living in Ntambessi, Cameroon. She is currently requesting her fourth loan from GHAPE. She has been with GHAPE since 2003 and has demonstrated a creditworthy character exemplified by her repayments, consistent attendance at meetings and support of her borrowing group.

With this latest loan B. is hoping to continue the business practices supported by her prior loans. She has requested the loan in order to purchase lumber and to pay for the labor of preparing the firewood for sale. She is confident that her business will continue to do well because of her experience in this industry. She understands her customers, their demands and the increasing need for firewood in her area. She is confident that her business will continue to provide revenue for her business and meet her family’s needs.

B. hopes to use the profits from her business to provide for her children. She utilizes the revenue from her business to provide her family with meals and to add an oil business. She will also be utilizing the revenue to take care of some personal medical needs.

B.’s loan will be provided through Grounded and Holistic Approach to People's Empowerment (GHAPE), a non-profit NGO (non-governmental organization) based in Bamenda, Cameroon. GHAPE works towards the empowerment of the poor and poverty alleviation through a highly multi-faceted approach. Every client is trained in business management, basic health, life skills, financial management, profits and losses, and family values. Clients are also required to contribute a small amount into a personal savings account; most clients save much more than the minimum requirement. GHAPE instills a sense of family and community within its clients and staff and has developed a strong bond of trust between the organization and its clients.
