Señor De Lagunas Group's story

The Panamericana regional center is located at the beginning of the highway which leads to the shores of Lake Titicaca. The communal bank "Señor de Lagunas" is part of this regional center, and it owes its name to the saint who is believed to watch over the lakes. This association is made up of 9 women with a strong desire to undertake their second loan cycle with Pro Mujer.

The members' businesses are: weaving blankets; selling shoes; masonry; weaving vicuña wool ponchos; selling fried potatoes; selling ponchos, clothing and shoes; and selling groceries.

The group's president, Rosmery Huriste, is 29 years old and has been married for several years. Her business is selling ponchos at the "16 de Julio" market, on Thursdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. She has operated this business for 5 years.

In this group: Rosmery, Petrona, Justa, Faustina, Elsa, Rosalia, Alicia, Nelly, Sonia
