Mrs. Sarom L. is a farmer who owns a small piece of land to cultivate rice for a living. Her husband, Mr. Ruos Sarin, is a fisherman. She is the mother of four children, one of whom is a laborer while the others are attending the local school.

Although they work hard, they do not earn enough income. Mrs. Sarom L. decided to ask for a loan to buy baby fish for breeding. She hopes to increase her household income to support the family.

This village bank consists of 16 members located in Preak Treng village in Kandal province. Mrs. Sarom L. is the village bank president who has been selected by the members.
