A loan helped a member to stock her clothing sales business.

San Pedro Group's story

The women of the San Pedro community bank, all heads of their families, are fighting for a better quality of life for themselves and their families. The group is one piece of a larger national program to eliminate poverty in the country by growing and improving small businesses.

Our featured member, Lidia, has a clothing sales business. She works as a street vendor, she says, but also takes orders for clothing from her regular customers. She started with very little but has worked hard to grow her business and is now applying for a loan that she will use to stock the business with jeans, shirts, blouses, t-shirts and other clothing pieces. The investment will allow her to carry on the business.

In this group: Elsa, Sandra, Lidia, Ana, Aurora, Irma, Irma, Gladys, Gregorio, Reina
