Rolom's story

Rolom is 48 years old and lives with her husband and their four children in Ovorhangai province, Mongolia. She and her family live together in a ger, the Mongolian nomadic tent. Rolom operates two businesses: clothing manufacturing and meat selling. Rolom's personality and health are good, and her business experience is improving. She plans to expand the business and increase her profits in the future. She has been operating the meat selling business with her husband at the rental counter of the Zanabazar market since 1998. Presently, her working capital is 1,500,000 tugrugs (~ 1055 USD), her average monthly sales revenue is 2,600,000 tugrugs (~ 1829 USD), and her monthly profit is 370,000 tugrugs (~ 260 USD).

Previously, Rolom had been operating a clothing manufacturing business, which she still runs in her spare time. She operates this business with her daughter, and they produce "deel" (Mongolian traditional clothing), coats, bags, and more. Rolom is requesting a 2,000,000 tugrug (~ 1400 USD ) loan to purchase a large amount of silk and material in order to produce and sell Mongolian traditional clothing during the upcoming Mongolian Lunar New Year celebration.
