A loan helped to buy for empty drums, timbers, wires, and coppers for her business.

Mary's story

Mary is 50 years old and married with four children. They live in a rural community outside Honiara, the capital of Solomon Island.

She runs a cocoa-drying business. She dries wet cocoa beans to sell to local cocoa exporters in town to earn a living. She has been doing this for 10 years.

Mary needs a loan to pay for additional empty drums, timbers, wires, and coppers to make a new cocoa-roasting shack for her business.

She has been a member of SPBD since 2015.

With her profits, Mary hopes to meet her family's needs and provide better living conditions for her family.
