A loan helped a member to bolster her currency exchange business.

Mungu Atu Jaliye Group's story

Fifi is part of the microfinance institution Hekima and president of the banque villageoise Mutu Atu Jaliye. She is married, is 48 years old and has nine children who are all in school. Her husband is a driver for a private company.
She has a currency exchange business that she started with some funds given to her by her husband in 2002, and later she requested a loan from Hekima. She will use this loan to bolster her exchange business. Instability in the rate of exchange is the main challenge her business faces. She wishes to keep her children in school and construct a private school. Finally, she thanks Hekima and its partners for the support provided to unbanked entrepreneurs.
