A loan helped to buy compost, urea and fertilizer.

Martha Celina's story

Martha is 47 years old. She lives in Patuca, Olancho, in eastern Honduras with her husband. They have 3 small children. She grows yucca. She says that with this activity, she has gotten ahead with her family.

She is asking for the loan to buy compost, urea and fertilizer because she wants to fertilize her crops well so that she can have a good yield.

Patuca, Olancho, Honduras, June 2019.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Ellen Donohue.

This loan is special because:

It has a below-market interest rate and is repaid at harvest, when farmers can more easily repay.
