A loan of $1,200 helped to buy new motors for her mills.

María Hilda's story

María Hilda C. M., 49, lives in the department of Chalatenango. She lives with her husband and a grandson who is in her care and who goes to school. Maria has a mill, which is located in her house. People come to her mill to grind corn, beans, rice, tomatoes and other products. This business has proved to be very profitable for Mary since she has many customers, especially those who own tortilla shops as they come daily to grind the corn. Maria has a very good location for her business; there is no competition since she has the only mill in the area. Maria requests a loan to use for maintenance of her mills and she also wants to buy new gasoline motors to make them more efficient. All of this will be with the aim of improving her service and the conditions of her business, since she really needs the earnings it provides as this is her main source of income. Maria hopes to succeed and be able to have a better life.
