Janet's story

Janet has a spice store in the local market, specializing in Ethiopian spices. ‎Her store was a restaurant before she moved into the location. Competition ‎has increased over the last couple of years and Janet, together with her son, ‎ decided to remodel her business into a coffee shop which will also sell her ‎specialty dishes and freshly ground Ethiopian spices. She has the only spice ‎grinder in the area for Ethiopian products. While the coffee shop will utilize the ‎foundation of the previous restaurant, some modifications are needed.‎

Janet needed this loan to assist with paying for renovations, equipment, ‎dishes, cups, platters and take away containers.‎

Janet and her son have a strong plan for their renovated coffee shop and ‎spice store. Their business will appeal to the local Ethiopian community, ‎general population and tourist crowd, which often visits in their area.
