A loan helped to add a greater variety of dishes to her business.

Diana's story

Diana is a 25-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her extended family in the Bawku West district in Ghana. She runs her own food-vending business.

With her previous Kiva loans, Diana was able to launch her business. She used the profit she earned to support her siblings with school fees. Diana is requesting another Kiva loan to add a greater variety of dishes to her business. She plans to use the profit she earns to further her education and support her family's basic needs.

Diana will repay the social interest on this loan by volunteering two-and-a-half hours per week as a Camfed peer educator, leading life skills sessions for students in local schools on topics such as rights and choices, choosing a career path, and active citizenship.

This loan is special because:

It provides 0% interest loans to entrepreneurs that give back to their community by mentoring.
