A loan helped to buy an additional dairy cow to improve her milk vending business and generate more profits to support her family.

Anastacia's story

Anastacia is a repeat borrower and a mother of two who always smiles. She is a woman who will sacrifice anything for the sake of her family. After failing to secure a chance to attend school, she decided to put her farming skills into practice. Today, she is living proof that being born in a wealthy family and having a decent education are not the only ways of becoming successful. Anastacia is an accomplished crop, dairy and poultry farmer living in Chuka. Anastacia has always wanted to buy another dairy cow, but a lack of capital has prevented her from doing so.

She is now seeking a loan to buy an additional dairy cow to improve her milk vending business. The cow she intends to buy is a breed that produces between 10 and 17 litres of milk a day. With this cow, she will produce more milk, which will translate into more income. Demand for milk in the Chuka area is high, but the supply is low. So, through this loan, Anastacia is going to have more milk and will comfortably meet demand. Anastacia's vision is to keep even more dairy cows so that she will be able to build a bio gas digester in the future, which will help her save more energy.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
