A loan helped a member to buy baby clothes and children clothes in bulk to strengthen her business.

Les Vaillants Group's story

Anny is a customer at the microfinance institution Hekima [Kiva's partner in DRC] and she is the representative of the Les Vaillants group. She is 45 years old and the mother of five children who all go to school. Her husband works protecting flora and fauna.
Anny is a shopkeeper who sells clothing. She started her business with a starting fund she got after receiving her salary from the work she did for a local organization in 2015. Later she took out a loan from Hekima. With this [new] loan, she will buy baby clothes and children clothes in bulk in order to strengthen her business. For now her shop is quite a challenge with all the state taxes she has to pay.
Her project for the future is to keep putting her children to school and to expand her shop. She would like to thank Hekima and their partners for the financial support they provide to non-bankable micro-entrepreneurs.
