Shalom Group's story

The Shalom group is comprised of five members who are neighbors and residents of San Juan Sacatepequez. Each member has a different activity like selling pastries, selling gifts, selling shaved ice, selling clothes, and selling daily consumer products.

Ilci G., age 25, represents the group. Motivated by the desire to prosper, and seeing the necessity, she shared the idea of asking for a loan with her colleagues. Years ago she worked in a communal bank with FAPE. She says that these types of loans have helped maintain her business, and they also allow her to support her two children.

All of the women are very hard-workers. Each one of them has a dream to see their businesses prosper and help their children get ahead.

In this group: Silvia Carolina, Nohelia, Nidia Jeanneth, Ilci Leojana , Nora Janeth
