A loan of $1,675 helped a member buying craft materials in bulk.

Mukono Women Crafts Group, Mukono's story

N. Faith, pictured at the top right, is the leader of her lending group (and she happens to be in the small photo, too). She is 57 years old and a single mother of 5 children, some of whom have finished university. She is also taking care of 8 nephews and nieces.

Faith is a business lady involved in the making and selling of crafts like mats, baskets and other items. She also does outside catering and her biggest challenge are the seasons when the number of clients is inadequate.

She has operated from the Butebe zone for 3 years and she is able to make 100,000 Ugandan Shillings as profit each week. She ensures that she has quality products and, in future, she would like to make a big show room for her crafts. She needs a loan to be able to buy more materials for making crafts in bulk.
