Josephine's Group's story

Josephine C. is from the village of Del C., Cabatuan, Isabela. She is 22 years old. Josephine is the group leader of a 6-member group loan offered by ASKI. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults.

Josephine is married and has 1 infant child. To make a living, Josephine owns & operates a business venture in the agriculture sector, raising livestock. The main source of income for the business comes from raising chickens for sale. Josephine is just starting this business.

In 2010, Josephine joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Josephine is requesting a loan of 5000 PHP which will be used to purchase breeding livestock. This will be the first loan taken out by Josephine from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand her business.
