Sonu's story

Sonu L. lives with her husband, Chakra Bahadur L., and their three children. Her husband is a taxi driver in the Kathmandu valley. Her two daughters are studying in grades 10 and 4 and her son is in primary school.

Sonu opened her small business three years ago to strengthen the economic condition of her family. She sells different food items in her shop. In particular, she makes Nepali food such as DalBhat (rice). She also sells tea and coffee.

The demand for food is increasing in her area, so Sonu is requesting her Rs 20,000 loan to buy necessary ingredients for her shop.
