A loan helped a member to purchase merchandise such as malts, flour, sugar, coffee, soft drinks, cookies, peanuts, corn, coal, etc. to stock his business.

Puerta Del Cielo 1 Group's story

Osny is a Haitian immigrant who came to the country with his mother seventeen years ago. They came in search of better opportunities, fleeing the difficult economic situation they lived in the neighboring country of Haiti.

Osny lives in a batey in La Romana province. Bateyes are communities where people, mostly Haitian immigrants, live in extreme poverty.

Osny has a child at home. He couldn’t finish school. The lack of job opportunities due to very limited education leads many people to start various types of businesses to support their families as in Osny’s case.

Osny started with a café, but he didn’t generate much profit, so he decided to establish a small shop where he could sell more products. He sells malts, flour, sugar, coffee, soft drinks, cookies, peanuts, corn, and coal among other items.

With this loan, Osny will generate income to help support his family. He needs your help to purchase new merchandise and stock his business. Thank you for contributing to Puerta Del Cielo 1.

In this group: Osny, Jean Claude, Ramona, Kerline, Hector, Esther
