A loan of $1,075 helped increasing her stock of products.

Maria's story

María is a charismatic and charming woman. She is 54 years old, is married to José (55) and has two children, though only one, Cici (13) lives with them. She owns her own home, which is located in a central region in the central forests of Peru.

For the last seven years, María has been selling household products and driving people around in her moto-taxi; what she likes best, however, is her commercial activity. Her business makes good profit - she buys wholesale and sells retail. Thanks to her earnings, she has bought a motorcycle and household appliances for herself, and she is able to sustain her family. In time, she would like to start and manage her own store selling household items, an area in which she already has a lot of experience.

This is the fourth loan she requests from Kiva partner MFP. She is happy to remain a part of her communal bank since she likes her fellow members, whom she considers close friends and above all, responsible borrowers. With the the money she is requesting, she will buy towels, bedspreads, curtains, floral centerpieces, among other items, to sell.
