A loan of $350 helped purchase various types of meat.

Bertha's story

Sra. Bertha is a member of the San Pedro Communal Bank and has participated in one loan cycle. She lives in the District of Acora, Province and Department of Puno. Bertha is 21 years old and a single mother with one child. She completed her high school education and earns a living by buying and selling meat.

Bertha says her first loan from Manuela Ramos was in the amount of 500 PEN, which was used to increase her operating capital. She is now requesting a loan of 1000 PEN in order to buy alpaca, lamb, beef, and other types of meat. Her greatest wish for the future is to buy lambs for fattening. What she enjoys most about her Communal Bank is the punctuality of all the members when submitting their payments at each meeting.
