A loan of $225 helped tO BUY CHICKEN, POTATOES ETC.

Carmela's story

Carmela has been a member of the “Cristo Blanco” communal bank for 1 year. She lives in the Juliaca district, San Román province in the Puno department. She is 47 years old, is separated and has 1 child. She studied to the fifth year of secondary school. She buys and sells honey and barbequed chicken (fast food).

Carmela tells us that with the first loan she asked the Manuela Ramos Movement for, which was for 500 PEN, she bought honey.

She is asking for a loan of 600 PEN, with which she will be able to buy ingredients for the barbequed chicken like: chicken, potatoes, etc.

Her dream for the future is to have a steady business and to open a grocery store.

What she likes the most about her communal bank are the meetings with the members and the responsibility.
