A loan helped to buy construction materials necessary for finishing her home so her family can finally move in.

Arjana's story

Arjana married her husband 29 years ago, at a time when most Albanians emigrated for a better life. She did also, while pregnant, with her husband. They stayed in Greece for more than ten years, but unfortunately emigration for them wasn't very successful.

When they came back to Albania, at the time as parents of three children, they had no house in which to live, so they rented an old house in a village. Her husband started to work in construction. He is a master in stone work: as you can see in the photo, part of the wall is built by Arjana's husband. Arjana became engaged with agricultural activities and today she has a small farm where she raises chickens and piglets for sale.

Arjana is asking for Kiva lenders' support for the first time, with the hope that she will be able to buy the construction materials necessary for finishing her family's home, seen in the back. This way, they can finally move into their own home.

Arjana thanks all Kiva lenders for the support and wishes a prosperous summer to all of you!

This loan is special because:

It supports women in a country where financing options are scarce.
