A loan helped a member to use ACE1 to gain access to electricity and save money spent on fuel.

Koting Salengana Group's story

Mapheello is a 64-year-old woman who lives in Roundavel with three other family members, including two children. They have no access to electricity.

She works as a farmer and struggles with food and livestock. Mapheello spends most of her energy budget on electricity and paraffin, which costs up to 250 LSL per month. She also spends as much as 15 minutes per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs, such as charging her phone.

Mapheello and the group in this village bought ACE 1 cook stoves to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel, and also to help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free.

The ACE 1 clean cook-stove is biomass and solar powered. For more information on the ACE1 cook stove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy
