A loan helped buy equipment, cart and marketing to grow our business .

Omar & Cristina's story

Growing up in Ponce, PR, part of large families and both being the middle child are some things we have in common. Being married to each other and Picolé BarLab are other things we share. I am the 5th of 9 siblings and my wife the 4th of 8, allowing us to understand, work and collaborate with people of different ages, personalities, tastes and ways of thinking, which is of great help when starting and running a business. This has impacted our business because it has led us to create a product for the whole family.

I am currently an architecture student and work at an accounting firm, while my wife is an elementary school teacher; all this while also starting and growing Picolé BarLab. We hope that we can grow this business enough so it can be our main job and source of income. We also dream of been able to employ more people, increase points of sale and sweeten peoples lives with our popsicle experience.

As a couple we have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, which has come to light at various points and businesses. Cristina has had Day Care and Tutoring center, Summer Camps and Pop up stores in which I have been involved.

This loan is special because:

it supports a dedicated entrepreneurial couple in creating delicious sweet treats for their community.
