A loan of $2,500 helped a member buy beef, chicken, vegetables and spices.

Mujeres Talentosas Group's story

This group was formed by Señora Eladia A., a resident of the Primero de Marzo neighborhood in the city of Coronel O.. She had approached Fundación Paraguaya to learn more about its Committee of Enterprising Women program, and then invited her friends and neighbors to form a group in order to get ahead and improve their quality of life. They are 15 very hard-working, humble women who work every day to earn a living. They each work independently in clothing sales, food sales, grocery stores, and in orchards; other members sell their own products. They received the loan and each person used the money to invest in their respective business. Like the rest of the group members, Señora Ada D. works very hard at her job preparing and selling meals. She wakes up very early each morning to start cooking and display the food she sells from her homes. She used her loan to buy cooking ingredients like beef and chicken, vegetables and spices. The group members’ activities are listed below: 1. Bernarda O.: Grocery store 2. Norma M.: Crafts 3. Ada D.: Food sales 4. Hilda C.: Avon Cosmetics sales 5.
