Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $300 helped repair her house.

Mercedes Gerarda's story

Mercedes C. M. is a salaried employee of a school that is in the Palacio community in the Viejo municipality.

She is going to use the loan to repair the kitchen in her house. She is a person with scant resources.

She has worked as a teacher in this school for 30 years. Thanks to her work she has been able to give her daughter the necessary education. Mercedes has always been a single mother.

She tells us that thanks to the help from Ceprodel she has had five loans. She has been raising her house little by little with help from God and Ceprodel.
