A loan of $300 helped alfalfa and corn stalks.

Maria Maximina's story

Maria is 76 year old and lives in the Del Provenir district in the province of Trujillo, in the La Libertad department of Peru. She is a member of the “Mujeres Decididas” (Women of Decision) communal bank. She is illiterate and has seven adult children. She sells alfalfa and corn stalks from her home. Her first loan of 300 PEN allowed her to begin selling soft drinks and beer.

She will use the money from this loan of 800 PEN ($300) primarily to buy alfalfa and corn stalks to sell to her neighbors and to the stables. She hopes to increase her sales and income.
