A loan helped to purchase a solar lighting system to improve his family's living conditions.

Felipe's story

In the community of Yoro, Honduras, where Felipe (age 67) lives, there is not access to electricity. However, this has not impeded him from carrying out his work as a farmer and rancher, jobs that he has done since he was very young.

Although Felipe's activities have not been affected, he and his family have suffered for many years due to not having access to a better quality of life that electricity offers. For a long time, they have been forced to purchase kerosene lamps and batteries for lamps, walk long distances to have access to charge a cell phone, and above all, have been exposed to the health damages that kerosene and candles cause.

For these reasons, Felipe is requesting a loan through Soluz Honduras, since he needs to purchase a solar system to continue rising very early to work, and also so his wife does not have difficulty taking care of him due to lack of light.

Felipe is sure that the solar system will make him a more productive worker, and improve his life and that of his family since they will not be exposed to toxic gases and fumes.
