A loan of $550 helped to buy school supplies to increase her business during the school season.

Paula Carmela's story

Paula is 41 years old and is a single mother who lives with her 6 year-old son in the Macabi area of Paiján district, in the Ascope province of the La Libertad region, located 3 hours from the city of Chiclayo.

In her house she has set up an office supply store where she offers photocopying, typing, and internet search services. She tells us that she started out selling printer paper, encouraged by some mothers in the area, since her house is located close to a school in the neighborhood. Gradually she expanded her business, and now her business is widely accepted by the community, especially during the school season, which goes from March until December.

Paula wishes to increase her business by purchasing school supplies, but she does not have sufficient capital to do this. For this reason she has seen the necessity of requesting a loan from Edpyme Alternativa for 1,500 Peruvian soles.

She is a mother who is a fighter, and is enterprising and hardworking. Her main wish is to furnish her young son with a quality education that will guarantee him a prosperous future. She has worked previously with our institution, and has demonstrated punctuality and responsibility in making her payments.
