Sibekekile's story

Sibekekile is a 19-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her grandmother and siblings in the Nkayi district of Zimbabwe.

Sibekelile is requesting a Kiva loan to start her grocery shop, buying a variety of groceries like sugar, salt, cooking oil, washing powder, bathing soap, washing soap and rice for resale.

Sibekekile plans to use the profit she earns to further her studies. She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering for four hours per week as a Transition Program Mentee, learning by doing as she shadows and supports more experienced CAMA members in their volunteer roles as Learner Guides, Business Guides, or Loan Coordinators.

This loan is special because:

It is a 0% interest loan for young women with new businesses.
