A loan of $725 helped to purchase ingredients for her tamales.

Zeida's story

Zeida is a hardworking woman who is 34 years old. She lives with her partner and her two daughters, Yamile, 3 and Tayra, 2, in her mother's house. She makes and sells tamales (steamed corn meal wrapped in corn husks). This activity takes her almost all day. The preparation alone takes almost 3 hours. She is very careful with each ingredient, since good sales depend on a good finished product of this appetizer. Zeida likes to cook and her job offers her family the chance to have a better quality of life. She also feels very independent with it. Luckily, she has no problems with sales and she is also very well known in the area where she lives because of her delicious seasoning. She also sells clothes. She delivers them to homes according to what has been ordered by her neighbors and friends. With both activities she hopes to progress and sell more in the future.

This is her fourth loan with MFP and she has always demonstrated responsibility with all of her payments and the work of the other members has always been supportive and cooperative. With the money that she is asking for now she will buy a larger quantity of products to make her tamales and also to sell clothes by order.
