Enoque Manuel's story

Enoque Manuel was born in the District of Chibuto, in the Gaza Province, in the South of Mozambique. He is 36 years old, married and the father of 4 children, 17, 15, 13 and 11-years old. The children are all in school. He only went to school until the 7th grade due to his parents' lack of financial resources. He owns the house he lives in with his family. He supports his parents by sending them money and food.

He has never left Boane. He has only moved from his parents' home to his own, in the same District, after getting married. He owns a tailor shop and is a tailor by trade. He works with his wife who is also in the same trade. He normally works 12 hours a day. Sometimes he works doing electrical work in vehicles for the LALGY trucking company. His business brings and income of 10.000mt per month which goes towards house expenses and a traditional rotational savings system he participates in with his friends (Xitique).

He has never had loans from other banks. He came to know about Hluvuku through his colleagues who are members. This is fourth loan, in the amount of 20.000.00mt. He intends to purchase sewing supplies (fabric, thread and others) to sew school uniforms and various clothing items. The previous loans were for 10.000.00mt, 12.000.00mt and 15.000.00mt, all for the same activity.

In the future, he would like to request more loans for his business. He makes a commitment to pay when due so that he will have access to more loans in the future.
