A loan of $1,050 helped a member to purchase clothing.

Benkadi Group's story

The women of the Benkadi group of the Kelenya association are, on average, 30 years old and have three children. They live mostly in traditional extended families in the Guegnéka district of Fana, in the Dioila prefecture, in the second administrative region of the republic.

These women mainly buy and sell clothing, bed linens and bed spreads. After having properly repaid the four preceding loans, the women of the Benkadi group are on their fifth joint loan which will be used to buy packages of different types of clothing for men, women and children. They mostly get their supplies from wholesalers in Burkina Faso and Bamako, making their sales door to door and at market, with cash and credit, to a clientele of men and women. They each expect to earn a monthly profit of 50,000 FCFA which will be used to meet the needs of their families, and to invest the rest in their business.

In this group: Aramatou , Marama , Magnini , Fanta , Payi
