The women of the Benkadi group of the Kelenya association are, on average, 30 years old and have three children. They live mostly in traditional extended families in the Guegnéka district of Fana, in the Dioila prefecture, in the second administrative region of the republic.

These women mainly buy and sell clothing, bed linens and bed spreads. After having properly repaid the four preceding loans, the women of the Benkadi group are on their fifth joint loan which will be used to buy packages of different types of clothing for men, women and children. They mostly get their supplies from wholesalers in Burkina Faso and Bamako, making their sales door to door and at market, with cash and credit, to a clientele of men and women. They each expect to earn a monthly profit of 50,000 FCFA which will be used to meet the needs of their families, and to invest the rest in their business.

Les femmes du groupe Benkadi de l’association Kelenya ont en moyenne 30 ans, 3 enfants et vivent en majorité dans des familles traditionnelles élargies au quartier Guegnéka de la ville de Fana, préfecture de Dioila, deuxième région administrative de la république.
Ces femmes font essentiellement l’achat et la vente des habillements des draps de lit et des couvres lits.
Après avoir correctement remboursés les 4 prêts précédents, les femmes du groupe Benkadi sont à leur 5 prêt solidaire qui sera utilisé pour acheter, des colis de plusieurs variétés d’habillements, pour adultes des deux sexes, pour enfants et des couvres lits.
Elles s’approvisionnent essentiellement à partir du Burkina Faso et Bamako auprès des grossistes et effectuent leurs ventes, à domicile, au marché, au comptant et à crédit, à une clientèle composée de femmes et d’hommes.
Elles envisagent réaliser chacune un bénéfice moyen mensuel de 50.000FCFA qui servira utilisé pour subvenir aux besoins de la familles et investir le reste dans les activités.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
