A loan helped to buy rice, cooking oil, sugar and canned goods to offer her customers, along with vegetables and fruit that she already sells.

Marites's story

Marites is married to a carpenter and has three children ages 11, 10 and 8 who are all attending school. Due to the irregularity of her husband's work, Marites decided to open a small store in 2010 where she sells vegetables and in-season fruit. Her income has mostly been used to cover expenses related to her children's education and because of this, she lacked the opportunity to grow her store.

Marites dreams of making her store a one-stop food shop where customers can buy market and grocery food items at the same time. She is requesting a loan of 25,000 PHP to buy rice, cooking oil, sugar and canned goods to offer her customers along with vegetables and fruit that she already sells. Marites is hoping to earn more money with more of an inventory and by completing orders of her customers. Then she can continue supporting her children's education and growing her business at the same time.
