A loan of $900 helped farming supplies.

Severino's story

Severino is 62 years old and is a hard working, humble man. He is married to a wonderful woman, Antonieta, age 54. They have four children, but only their youngest daughter, Analí, age 15, lives with them.

Together with the help of his wife, he has been cultivating potatoes, peas, beans, and corn for the past 40 years. What motivates him to continue his work is the harvest, because after selling his products, he is able to recover his investments and bring in a good income, which he uses to provide for his family's needs. He considers this to be a good reward for working.

"Farming has allowed me to buy my home, my land, and provide for my children's education," he says excitedly.

Like a visionary, he hopes to one day build a grocery store, or based on demand, perhaps open a fertilizer business in a location he rents in town.

This will be his fourth loan through MFP and he knows that he will meet his objectives by paying on time. He also enjoys motivating others within his communal bank. He will use the money from this loan to invest in fertilizer, insecticide and fungicide in order to protect his potato crop.
