Jessica's story

Before I entered the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA), I was pursuing a career in music education. At a field experience in college, I was paired up with a young child with autism to help her in an inclusive music class. With this positive experience in mind, I decided to take a summer job as an ABA tutor for preschool children with autism. After undergrad, I moved to Pittsburgh, PA, to pursue a master's degree in early intervention with autism specialization from the University of Pittsburgh. As part of that degree program, I also completed ABA coursework and earned a teaching certificate in special education, pre-k through grade 12.

I am a behavior analyst and special education teacher in Pittsburgh, PA. I formed Keystone ABA in 2018, following 13 years of experience in the field of ABA in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. Previous work experience includes Pittsburgh Public Schools, Pace School, The Watson Institute – Friendship Academy, and Pressley Ridge School for Autism. I supervise graduate students pursuing behavior analyst certification through the University of Pittsburgh and Simmons University.

I began volunteering with the Friends of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (CLP) in 2009. I served as Volunteer Coordinator, Treasurer, and currently serve as President of my neighborhood branch group. I am the Secretary of the Friends of CLP Council. I am also a member of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Board of Trustees and serve on the External Relations Committee.
