Jose's story

Jose is a modest and a hard working 45 year old man, who has amazing skill in furniture making. He lives in the Ainaro municipality with his family. It is one of the most financially excluded cities in East Timor.

Jose has a carpentry business which started with his own working capital. The business has been running for many years now. Jose enjoys running the carpentry business because it allows him to be independent and provide a better and healthier life for his family.

He is requesting a loan of $1,500 USD through KIF to help him buy some timber, glue, nails, and a new carpentry machine in order to make more furniture to sell so that he can generate income for his family. Jose hopes to run a bigger business in the future as a result from the investment, and wants to thank all lenders for the opportunity.
