A loan helped a member to buy an ACE 1 cookstove to save money spent on fuel, to gain access to electricity for extra lighting at night and to charge mobile devices.

Tsohang Barobali Group's story

Malimpho is a 24-year-old woman who lives in separated huts, without access to electricity, with four other family members, including three children.

Malimpho works as a livestock farmer but struggles with school fees. She spends the most amount of her energy expenses on candles, paraffin, cooking gas and mobile device charging fees, which costs up to M295 per month.

She also spends as much as five hours per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Malimpho and the group in this village bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free.

The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass- and solar-powered.
