Felicidad's Group's story

Felicidad A. is from the village of Cabisera 5. She is 52 years old. Felicidad is the group leader of a six-member group loan offered by ASKI. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. The official name of this borrowing group is Felicidad A..

Felicidad is married and has two adult-aged children. To make a living, Felicidad owns and operates a general store, selling a variety of different products in the local community. Felicidad has been engaged in her business for over four years and earns approximately $65 a month from this activity.

In 2007, Felicidad joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation by engaging in business activities. Felicidad has successfully repaid a previous loan from ASKI. This previous loan was used to purchase additional products to sell. Felicidad is requesting a new loan of 25,000 PHP which again will be used to purchase additional products. This will be her 7th loan from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated to further improve her business.
