A loan of $350 helped buy brushes and cases of detergent for her business.

Damaris's story

Damaris belongs to the Los Eucaliptos Communal Bank in the Tarapoto district, San Martin province, San Martín department. She is 28, in a common law marriage, and has one baby who is dependent upon her. She studied the field of information technology, but she does not work in that field.

Damaris is a hard-working woman. Given her optimistic spirit, which has always characterized her, she has now spent five years in the business of washing motorcycles and “motocarros” (three wheeled motorized vehicles). Her business is located at her house in a well equipped area. She tells us that she has a lot of customers everyday.

With her first loan for 300 PEN she bought detergent by the dozen, brushes, and supplies that helped her start her business.

With this loan for 1,000 PEN she will buy cases of detergent, brushes by the dozen, and a new hose to be able to offer better service and tend to her customers in a much better way.

Damaris feels very good belonging to a group of women that has helped her to better know her rights, and together they make sure these rights are respected. She is very grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement for helping her start in the business field. Also, she feels supported by the new product that the institution is offering, micro life insurance. Also, her wish is to have health insurance.
