Clémence's story

T. Clémence was born in 1979 in Houègbo in Atlantique province in Bénin. Clémence is married to ANGO Nicaise, an employee at the Benin Brewing Company in Bénin, and is the mother of two children, both enrolled in school. She has been living with her family for some 10 years in the Enagnon district of Cotonou, economic capital of Bénin. The couple both participate in supporting the family.

Clémence was not enrolled in school for long and later learned hairdressing. This is the business she has been in for 15 years, in order to earn a living. Besides this business, she also sells various hairdressing products and lengths of cloth in her beauty shop, located in the Enagnon district. Clémence is a long-time client of ALIDé and has previously received three loans from ALIDé, all correctly reimbursed. However, she has encountered financial difficulties since she had an accident during her third loan period. She would like to boost her business to better satisfy her clientele and earn more money. This is what brings her to request a fourth loan from ALDé.
