A loan of $350 helped invest in dishes and a new canopy.

Jessica Violeta's story

Jessica is 29 years old. She is separated and lives with her 12 year old daughter in the Cayaltí district, located an hour away from Chiclayo.

She has a food stall outside the Cayalti marketplace. She tells us that the idea for her business was born when one of her aunts encouraged her to start it because of her experience in preparing her food.

Jessica offers her customers various dishes, typical of the region, such as ceviche, potatoes in spicy cheese sauce, stuffed potatoes, corn tortillas, and noodles. She runs that business daily from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and in the evenings she sells fruit juices from the same location.

She always has many customers. She would like to expand, so she has seen fit to request a 1000 PEN ($350) loan through “Edpyme Alternativa.” She will use the money to invest in dishes and a new canopy in order to improve her service.

Jessica is a hard working responsible woman and is admired by her customers and neighbors for knowing how to get ahead, despite her being a single mother.
