A loan of $700 helped expand into a new business venture.

Luz's story

Luz is a very enterprising woman. She is 38 years old and is a happily married mother of three: Cristian (17), Noé (9) and Daniela (1 yr and 2 mos). At the moment they live in her mother’s house.

She spends every evening blending herbs and fresh spices, as her business is the sale of condiments in a marketplace near her home. She has been doing this for 13 years and during that time she has had a noticeable increase in business and is able to maintain her home with this income. Because her husband does not have a steady job, he works with her in her market stall.

Luz is happy about what she knows, above all because it is profitable. Whenever she is tired from preparing her condiments, her children help her. This motivates her to keep working.

One day she would like to buy some land and build a home, but she can’t do it alone, so they decided that her husband would be in charge of selling the condiments while she begins selling clothing. This way they will be able to fulfill their dreams of owning their own home.

This is her twelfth loan through MFP and she has always been responsible with her payments. She is also the secretary of her group and knows that she must not lose the trust that she has earned with the other members. She will invest the money that she is requesting in clothing items to start her new business.
