A loan of $700 helped to purchase silk materials for her weaving business.

An's story

Mrs. An H. (pictured here), age 62, is a widow with three sons and two daughters who weave silk at home. One of them is married and lives in a separate home; one is a construction worker, and another one attends school. They are living on an island in the Mekong River about fifteen kilometers from Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.

Mrs. An H. has been a silk weaver since she was young. She sells her finished products to the middleman in the village who then brings them to sell in Phnom Penh market. She is requesting a loan in the amount of $700 to purchase silk material for her weaving business.
