A loan helped a member to save money spent on fuel by using the ACE 1 cook stove, as well as to gain access to electricity for extra lighting at night and for charging mobile devices.

Lilomong Group's story

Maitumeleng is a 39-year-old hardworking woman who is married to a 42-year-old gentleman. She is a crop farmer.

Maitumeleng lives with her three children in separated huts. She says she struggles to gather firewood for cooking and sometimes uses cooking gas, which requires her to travel 10 kilometres and to pay 185 LSL for cooking gas every month. She also spends 36 LSL every month on paraffin and mobile device charging fees.

Maitumeleng and the three other people in her village say the ACE 1 cook stove is going to help them save the money they spend on cooking fuel and mobile device charging fees every month. The ACE 1 clean cook-stove is biomass and solar powered. For more information on the ACE 1 cook stove, please visit africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy.
