A loan of $1,050 helped to purchase a motorcycle.

Tamunang's story

Born in 1948, Tamumang J. is married to Nkenti Grace, and they have three children. As a man who is the bread-winner of the family and finding it very difficult to accomplish this task, he made up his mind to join GHAPE in 1998. Also, he has been having a lot of family problems. This made him sad all the time but he is appreciative of the fact that he is alive. His desire is to give his children love and education. He states that he feels better each time he provides something small to his children. His inability to get investment capital which could constantly generate income for him to meet his children’s needs is what motivated him to obtain a loan from GHAPE.

Given a loan, he plans to buy a two-wheel motor cycle; he knows this business will succeed because he is located at a good business site in the metropolitan town of Bamenda and he will be the rider of the motorcycle. Believing he has good management techniques, he knows he will be able to have good monthly income from his activity.

He plans to use the profits generated to sponsor his children in school and to cater to the basic needs of his family.
