A loan of $5,200 helped a member to buy sheep.

Arame's Group's story

This group consists of 9 women who significantly support and help each other. They live in the same village and took the chance to join the "banc villageois" when it was first created in December 2010. Their main activity is livestock fattening and small trade.

Mrs. Arame, (standing on the right side of the picture and raising her hand) represents the group. She is 52 years old. She is divorced and mother of a child. She fattens livestock. She has experience in this business, as she has been involved in it for several years.

With this loan she plans on buying sheep. She will fatten them for at least six months and then she will sell them.
With the profits she wants to increase her savings and meet her own needs.

In this group: Arame, Fassar, Khady, Fatou, Daba, Soda, Khare, Anta, Ndeye Amy
