Bolivia's story

Bolivia P. A. is 46, married, and has three children. Boris is 21, Klever is 16, and Shirley is 12. They live in the Santa Deriana precinct, Parish of San Jose del Tambo, which belongs to the Chillanes Canton, Province of Bolívar.

She is a member of the Junto Venceremos Communal Bank, which is comprised of 11 members. Most of them are devoted to agriculture and livestock. Bolivia has worked in agriculture all of her life. It is the main source of income for her family. The crops that stand out the most in the region are oranges, corn, cocoa, yucca, and vegetables. She sells her products on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in Bucay.

Bolivia is asking for a loan to buy a piece of land and keep increasing her crops. Her goal is to build house of reinforced concrete and that her children continue on with their education. The challenge that she faces is the persistent pests in the fields. She spends lots of money on insecticides and pesticides to take care of her products. The area where she lives is subtropical and has a variety of different products.

In her free time Bolivia likes to study the Bible. She also helps organize events in her community.
