A loan of $1,000 helped to get a new engine for his minibus. This business is the family's only source of income.

David Fernando's story

David was born in the city of Cochabamba. When he was 21 years old, he came to the city of Santa Cruz in search of better opportunities. Santa Cruz was the place he met the woman who is now is wife. They have 3 children, one is 6 years old, as well as 3 year old twins. The family counts on David's minibus service to sustain them. They also have another car for personal use. They are long standing clients of the communal bank. David is a very responsible and hardworking person. This loan will be used to purchase a new engine for his mini bus, since the current engine keeps quitting and often prevents David from doing his work. Everybody suffers when this happens as it it the family's only source of income. David is grateful to the organization Emprender, and Kiva, for granting loans.
